Check out our new website, CommentSnaps.com
Our little staff wanders the interwebz 24/7/365 and sees a boatload of pictures. I know you probably feel the same way we do…a few pictures on the internet hit the sweet spot and make us genuinely happy. Others give us pause for a moment and a nice chuckle. And finally, there are the dregs which—for whatever reason—just seem lame and boring. We all seek after those that hit the sweet spot and hope that LolSnaps and DailyWebComics brings our fair share of those to the community.
But what makes us smile, laugh, cringe, and empathize more than any set of funny pics or comics are the comments left by community members. It is the unique part of our websites which cannot be duplicated and which create for many of us the reason to return. Sometimes, community members will attach pictures to their comments which can create even more humor, insight, or understanding. To that end, we have spent the last several months gathering a base of over 1,500 pictures that could conceivably be attached to comments and parked them in a new website called CommentSnaps.com.
We set up 37 categories of pictures…most of them gifs for the time being…which we believe represent a strong baseline of emotion and response community members can use to enhance their comments. Importantly, the website has an optional user login system which allows you to upload your own favorite comment snaps and favorite (bookmark) those snaps already on the website so you have them for ready use. Here is a sampling of the categories:
- Amazed - Excited - Happy - Nailed it
- Angry - Upset - Disappointed
- Fapping - Sexual (reasonably tasteful)
- Laughing - Smiling
- Sad - Crying - Feels - Sorry
- Stop - GTFO - Nevermind
- Surprise - Shock
- Thumbs Up
- WTF - Wat - Confused - Sorcery
- and 22 more…
The site is pretty simple. The homepage features the newest images posted (“New”) along with those viewed the most (“Popular”), and a selection of “Random” images. We’re adding new images every day and are engaged in tagging every single one of the images so it makes searching easy. The best way to experience and understand the site is to go there and spend a little time getting a feel for the categories and images.
Those utilizing comment systems like Disqus, IntenseDebate, Livefyre, or Google+ will love the ease of use as those systems accept both gif and still embedded images. Facebook users will find an easy link to the website page if they want to share the images in their comments.
As you upload and share some of your favorite comment images, please remember we are not a porn site. Don’t post images of nipples, vaginas, or penis parts.
